Publicity stunt during the Turkish Airlines Open 2016 which has been picked up by various news agencies worldwide; European Tour, The Sun, Sky News, CNN … to name a few.
Thorbjørn Olesen fended off a storming fightback from England’s David Horsey to claim a three-stroke victory at the Turkish Airlines Open, winning his fourth European Tour event and a million dollars in prize money.
The Dane’s well deserved victory earned him a valuable 1,065,388 points, lifting him from 38th to ninth in the Race to Dubai rankings with a total of 1,751,589, points for the season and his spot in the DP World Tour Championship, taing place at Jumeirah Golf Estates from Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 November, secured.
The 26 year old managed to hold his ground and take the € 1,065,388 first prize with a 20-under total 264 despite his seven-shot overnight advantage being slashed to just one stroke in the final round.

The 2016 qualifying events have come to an end and what a year it has been. One tournament being played on 4 continents, in 61 countries and in 100 destinations doesn’t find its equal easily. We would like to thank everybody involved in this enormous project and of course a special thanks to Turkish Airlines for making us part of it.

Hosted at the stunning Gloria Golf Club in Antalya, one of the most prestigious in the region, it was the perfect proving ground for golf’s future stars to do battle for the Turkish Airlines Challenge 2016 title.
